Recently, the "Second Environmental Impact Assessment Publicity for the Tianjin COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Ship and Offshore Engineering Construction Base Project" was officially released. The project is located in the Lingang Economic Zone of Binhai New Area, Tianjin, with Tianjin COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. as the construction entity. Public information shows that the project has a total investment of 8 billion yuan and is expected to achieve an annual output value of approximately 6 billion yuan upon completion.
The plant area plans to utilize approximately 1,736 meters of coastline. The proposed construction includes three 300,000-ton outfitting quays (with the No. 3 quay to be deferred), one 10,000-ton material wharf, and two 300,000-ton dry docks, along with corresponding onshore production design and supporting facilities. The total coastline to be utilized is 1,736 meters, and the base covers an area of 145.9 hectares. The occupied sea area is approximately 2.61 million square meters. The solid sections of the three outfitting quays are each 460 meters long by 30 meters wide, with two additional mooring dolphins, making the berth length 520 meters. The material wharf is 165 meters long and 25 meters wide, with each quay equipped with an 85-meter-long approach bridge. The main dimensions of the dry docks are 550 meters by 80 meters and 550 meters by 72 meters, respectively, with a dock depth of 14 meters.
